Eleni Papavasileiou – Stories from the Vaults of the Brunel Institute

In case you missed it, Ignite Bristol #4 was held on the ss Great Britain, just one of the incredible products of the mind of IKB. The ship once more sits in the very dock created to build it, and where the workshops that forged its ground breaking machinery once stood you will now find the Brunel Institute.

In our ninth talk from IB#4, Eleni Papavasileiou introduces us to this world class archive which brings together documents, books and artefacts from the life of Brunel; from his drawings as a six year-old, to his “fact books”, his instruments which he used to design buildings, railways and bridges to records of the people travelling on his incredible boat to new lives in Australia.
