The “nudge” was the political notion of last summer – getting people to do what you want by gentle prompting them to do it themselves, rather than forcing them.
On that line, committed cyclist Martin Couzins points out, despite best intentions to the contrary, the cycle lanes in the UK’s first “cycle city” might just be nudging us into our cars or, worse still, into the path of pedestrians or oncoming traffic…
