Julian Burrett – Stories are maps

Are stories just a user-friendly interface for dealing with the powerful computers housed in our  “ridiculously over-powered noggins”? That’s the question asked by Julian Burrett in this beautifully illustrated exploration of the purpose of story telling.

Stories are complex mnemonics for guiding us through life, whether our route be across 970,000 square miles of the Mediterranean or simply to get from our house to the pub, avoiding the boring beardy, to meet up with the “organism of our dreams”.
