A Message from Ignite Bristol:
We’re all looking forward to seeing you at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery later for our eighth event! Seats are being transported, screens erected, cameras focused. There’s just time for us to drop you a line about two things.
Opportunities for standing
We think a museum is a first for an Ignite in the UK. Other haunts include universities, bars, night clubs and even the Welsh Assembly. We’ve always tried to ensure seats for everyone at our events – but as you can see, it’s not always the case. And unfortunately it’s not going to be possible this evening.
So we can make space for our full allocation of guests, but some of you will have to stand. We’re sorry about that, and we hope the younger and fitter among you will be able to endure standing room at the back with us. If nothing else, it will give you a headstart on the trip to the bar during the intervals. Which leads nicely into our next point…
Support the Museum and Ignite Bristol – have a drink!
Bristol Museum and Art Gallery isa tremendous cultural asset for our city and we are so proud of being able to run an event in its glorious main hall. But like so many public organisations, they are feeling the squeeze, so we’ve promised to help them by bringing our great crowd to them to be enlightened and raise them some money.
If everyone who attends buys a couple of drinks at the bar they are putting on specially for us, we will raise the money we’ve promised to them. We think you are equal to the challenge. We’re open from 7pm and the bar will remain open after the talks finish, so please help us to help the Museum.
Already some fantastic sponsors have stepped in and helped us keep Ignite Bristol #8 a free event: Jack Horner, Pip Wilson, Agilebase, bardowl, Riot Events and Net.Mentor, along with our regular friends Films @ 59, Beeston Media and Goram & Vincent and the volunteers. But this one is bigger than we’ve done before and it’s for a good cause, so please show your support and have a couple of drinks with us tonight.
See you all later,
Dan, Peter and the Ignite Bristol team
